Designated Teachers

A Designated Teacher (DT) is a qualified teacher within a school or setting who acts as an advocate for children in care, supports families of children previously in care and takes responsibility for helping school staff to understand the barriers and difficulties affecting these children. 

One of the tasks that a DT does is to collaborate with families and the Virtual School Heads to create PEPs.  These are Personal Education Plans which help outline the support offered to a child and are updated termly.

Our Director of Education meets with the Virtual Heads for Suffolk and Norfolk on a regular basis to ensure best practice.
