Kingfisher schools celebrate GCSE success

Students across the Kingfisher secondary schools in Suffolk celebrated GCSE success this week.

There were several examples of remarkable achievements, including Izzy Manning from Stowmarket High, who received grade 9s in all of her GCSEs.

Lucie Hernandez, Headteacher, commented: “We are rightly celebrating the students' hard work and the efforts that went into the past five years of their studies. I also would like to thank our dedicated staff; it is their continued diligence that has enabled so many of our students to attain such positive outcomes."

Emily Taylor from Sir John Leman High, scored seven 9s, three 8s and an A in additional maths. She said: “I am so unbelievably ecstatic about my grades – obviously, they are the sort of grades you hope for. I owe such a large proportion of this joy to my amazing teachers who have never failed to push me to my limits and support me always."

Sarah Hartshorn, Headteacher, added: “I have only had the pleasure of knowing this cohort of students for a term, but it has been such a delight getting to know them and seeing their drive, resilience, and passion to succeed has come to fruition today."

Jonathan Harris, Headteacher at Alde Valley Academy, said: “Our students have worked incredibly hard this academic year and we are pleased to see an improvement in our results, which is a testament to the hard work of both staff and students, and the ambitions we have for Alde Valley Academy."

Amongst those celebrating was Lola Hunting, who will now be moving on to Northgate High School with a football scholarship to study ‘A Level’ Psychology, Drama and PE. She said: “Alde Valley has helped me to achieve things I never thought I would achieve. I am so grateful for all of the support I have received from Alde Valley Academy, I couldn’t have achieved my results without them. The support from the staff and the whole school community has been fantastic”.
