Inspectors find learners 'flourish' at Snape

A glowing report has been published praising the unique school community at Snape, following a visit by Ofsted in January.

Inspectors found the behaviour and attitudes of the pupils to be exemplary.

“Pupils consistently show respectful behaviour. The school has a positive atmosphere where learning can flourish. This is because staff uphold clear, consistent expectations. This fosters a calm, orderly environment where pupils feel safe and valued. Pupils appreciate the school’s approach because they can learn effectively without disruptions.”

The curriculum and the varied and exciting opportunities to learn are also praised:

“The school has a broad and ambitious curriculum that interests and engages the pupils. Staff have strong subject knowledge, which they deliver in an engaging way. The school has high expectations, and staff carefully model work to pupils. They give guidance quickly so that pupils can move forward with their learning.”

Craig Morrison, Chief Executive of Kingfisher Schools Trust said:

"I hope that you will enjoy the many very positive comments about the work of the school and the contribution that is made by all pupils, parents and staff to making this happen. The very special ethos at the school, embodied in the Rainbow Values, the pride in the community, and the spirit of Team Snape, are all captured in the report."

He continued:

"The pupils are the stars at Snape and the inspectors clearly saw this. My thanks go to all of the staff who play their part in making Snape a great place to learn, and, given the small size of the school, inevitably wear many hats! My particular thanks go to Sarah Gallagher who gives so much in her fabulous leadership of the school and all that it gives to its pupils."
