Peter Aldous MP
Peter was elected as Member of Parliament for Waveney in 2010. Before entering Parliament, he was employed as a Chartered Surveyor in Norwich and Ipswich. Peter is Vice Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group of Further Education and Lifelong Learning and Member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Sixth Forms. He has been both a Waveney District Councillor and a Suffolk County Councillor, where he was Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group. Peter relaxes by following most sports and has been an Ipswich Town season ticket holder for many years. A keen squash player, when not working, he looks to be on court most evenings at the Beccles Sports Centre.
Steve Burton
Steven has a long and extensive background in the banking and finance sector having worked for Barclays Bank PLC for 36 years with his last role as Global Head of Resourcing, MI and Analytics. Steven has recently retired from Aviva PLC after 7 years as Resourcing Business partner for the UK. Steven is also an accredited trainer and holds a Certificate in Occupational Testing from the British Psychological Society. In regard to education, Steven has held numerous roles within governing bodies in his local town, and has held the position of chair of Governors on two separate boards.
Mark Chapman
Mark is employed as Finance Manager at Woodlands Primary School in Bradwell, Great Yarmouth and is the former Chair of Governors of Sir John Leman High School. Mark has a BSc (Hons) Degree in Banking and Finance and is an Associate of Chartered Institute of Bankers.
Mark has an extensive working background in the Finance Sector, formerly holding the posts of Commercial Manager and Premier Relationship Manager for HSBC. He is a keen reader and has a particular interest in history and military history.
Neil Collins
Neil studied Engineering at Cambridge before going on to a career in Telecoms software working in the UK and US. He has always been passionate about education and in 2012 was one of the co-founders of GovernorHub - an online resource for school governors and trustees used by over 15,000 schools in England. He has been a school governor for twenty years and was the founding chair of trustees at Enrich Learning Trust where he is still a member. He is also a trustee at The Wherry School - a special school for autistic pupils.
Lindsay Hanger
Lindsay has worked in education for 35 years as a class teacher, SEN Specialist Teacher, SENDCO, Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher of both a Pupil Referral Unit and a primary school. Lindsay is passionate about creating the right opportunities for all children, ensuring that the “whole” child is at the centre of education and that the wellbeing of pupils and staff is always an important consideration when decisions are made. Lindsay has two children and four grandchildren, all of whom live locally.
