Significant changes to a school - September 2025 consultations.
We are currently consulting with our school communities ahead of applying for significant changes to two of our schools.
These consultations, seeking views, run from Wednesday 3rd September to Wednesday 24th September 2025.
The first consultation is to seek views on expanding Stowmarket High School from 180 places per year to 210 places in September 2026, and in time to 240 places per year. We also seek views on our proposal to formally close the 6th Form, which has been 'on pause' for recruitment since 2020.
The second consultation is to seek views on establishing an additional specialist provision at Roman Hill Primary School. This will be for 12 places in EYFS/KS1 in the first instance, from January 2026, with subsequent capacity to open 12 further places in KS2 should these be required in time.
