Championing our communities
At the heart of our Trust lies a deep respect for local insight and community voice. One of our core values is community, and we believe that trust school improvement begins with those who know our schools best - pupils, parents, staff, and the local community. This is why as part of our revised governance structure we have Academy Councils at each of our schools.
What are Academy Councils?
Our Academy Councils are made up of dedicated volunteers from the parent body, school staff, and wider local community. They play a vital role in making sure that governance stays rooted in the real experiences, challenges, and aspirations of our local areas.
The purpose of our Academy Councils
Academy Councils work to:
- Ensure our schools' vision and ethos are reflected in the day-to-day experiences of pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.
- Celebrate and champion the achievements of both the school and the Trust.
- Serve as an independent, local voice, ensuring that the concerns and ideas of the community are heard and acted upon.
- Strengthening ties, creating opportunities for learning, growth, and local engagement.
- Offer valuable local oversight to the Trust Board and support continuous school improvement.
- Monitor key areas such as safeguarding and SEND, ensuring schools remain anchored in their communities.
- Contribute to hearing panel cases and making decisions on key matters, including exclusions and complaints, where appropriate.
